Alec Baldwin discharges a Prop Gun on Set killing One


Halyna Hutchins, the film’s director of photography, was killed on the set in New Mexico, and director Joel Souza was injured.

Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said Alec Baldwin shot a toy gun on the set of the film “Rust”.

Baldwin, 63, shot the stage handgun, murdering the film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, 42. And injuring the director Joel Souza, 48.

A helicopter flew Hutchins to the University of New Mexico Hospital, according to the sheriff’s office; where they pronounced her dead.

Hutchins’ agents said in a statement released on Friday that the cinematographer was a rising star in the industry. She was always upbeat and happy.

“Halyna Hutchins shone brightly.”

According to the statement, “always cheerful, always hopeful.”

Baldwin said he was in contact with Hutchins’ family in his first comments on the prop gun shooting on Friday.

“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours,” Baldwin tweeted.

He added: “I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.”
