Norman Reedus’s son arrested for assault

Mingus Reedus, the son of Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen, has been arrested.

Mingus, 21, was arrested in New York City on Friday night (September 24) for abusing a woman.

According to the New York City Police Department, through the New York Post, an anonymous 24-year-old woman told local law officials that she had a verbal altercation with an unknown male, later confirmed to be Mingus, during which he hit her in the face.

The victim was taken to the hospital after suffering an injury below her left eye. Her condition is steady.

Mingus was detained and charged with assault after the encounter, according to police.

He then spoke with The New York Daily News about the event, stating that the victim and her pals attacked him and his friends during the San Gennara festival in NYC’s Little Italy district.

Mingus claims he accidently hit the woman as he “threw his arm out” to protect himself.

He explained, “It was instinct.” “I was reacting to them swarming me and was concerned for my group’s safety.”

“We didn’t think much of it,” he added, “but these five girls followed us for two blocks, throwing food at us and yelling.” We requested them to leave us alone, but they persisted, threatening my girlfriend and her friend.”

“These girls swarmed me,” Mingus claimed, “one yanking my hair from behind my ears, another squirting water in my face.”

Mingus then recalled hitting one of the women and defending himself with his arms outstretched.

“Ten seconds later, the cops showed up,” Mingus added. “Police observed one of the females being injured and refused to listen to the circumstances. That day, all I wanted to do was mind my own business and play fair games.”

Mingus is scheduled to appear in court in the following weeks.
