Why Fans Love Keanu Reeves So Much

Anyone would think that we were back in the 1990s, with all this Keanu Reeves love going on right now. Why do people love him so much, why is he always a subject in the media? Is it the fact that he plays guitar for various bands? But so do many other celebrities! So that’s not it. Keanu’s appeal lies in his chill, humble personality, and the kindness and openness he shows toward his fans.

Here are some stories that fans and random people have shared that all shout out loud what an amazing of a person he is.

-His life hasn’t been all roses

His father left when he was 3.

He dropped out of high school because of dyslexia.

His bestirred died of an overdose at the age of 23.

His child was born stillborn.

His girlfriend died in a car crash shortly after.

He helped his sister fight leukemia.

-Keanu has donated most of his money from “Matrix” and also other movies and still hasn’t made it public for many years, until it came out accidently.

-He never touches his female fans when taking photos. He is a true gentleman.

-While filming “Chain Reaction” Keanu would bring breakfast and lunch for every stage employee. He was also the only one who asked for everybody’s name so he could call them by their name when he needed anything.

-He is not much of a fashion guy, he keeps the same cloths for a long time, drives a small dodge, and prefers to use public transport.

It these are not enough reasons then here is the story of James Dator who worked in the movie theater:

Dator explained

Keanu came to the movie theater I worked at in Sydney in 2001. He was working on the Matrix series at the time. It’s a quiet, Wednesday morning almost nobody is seeing movies. I’m working the box office, bored as hell and suddenly this dude walks up in jeans, a leather jacket and a horse riding helmet. It takes me a solid 30 seconds to ignore the helmet and realize its Keanu Reeves.

-He wants to buy a ticket for “From Hell,” the Johnny Depp movie. I’m so fucking star struck I do what any sensible 16-year-old does and tell him I’d like to give him my employee discount. This means he needs to sign my sheet and therefore I have his autograph.

“I don’t work here,” Keanu says. He was seemingly confused by my offer.

-I’m flustered and just charge him the normal price. I was kicking myself after for not getting his autograph. 2 minutes later there’s a knock on the door behind me that leads into the box office. I assume it’s my manager. It’s Keanu.

-“I realized you probably wanted my autograph,” he says. “So I signed this.” He hands me a receipt from the concessions stand that he signed on the back. He then casually throws an ice cream cone in the trash can and sees his movie.

I realize later that he bought an ice cream cone he didn’t want, just to get receipt paper so he could scribble his autograph for a 16-year-old idiot. It is the small details in his character that make him stand out.  If you are humble, and show authentic kindness, you truly have won in life.
